The Engineer collection was originally developed for engineers working on America's railroads. The all-leather boots with pull-on styling, used minimal stitching to protect the engineer's feet from the hot embers that fell from the locomotive's firebox. The buckled side gusset at the top of the boot allowed for easier bending, a necessary requirement as they needed to continuously shovel more coal into the firebox. The first engineer boots, number 919, appeared in the 1941 catalog they were advertised as pull-on boots for engineers and truck drivers, the new engineers of the open road.

Inspired by our classic engineer boots, the Neoprene Cord sole creates its unique look. The 2268 is an 11" un-lined pull-on boot, featuring a steel toe, built with premium Black Chrome leather, black Neoprene Cord sole, contrasting welt, silver hardware and sturdy Goodyear welt construction.

These run big in sizes. They are designed to be worn with thick socks. If you prefer to use thinner socks, then choose half a size smaller boots.

Shoe care: Leather cleaner, Leather conditioner, Black shoe creme
