Ebbets Field - Ebbets Field New York Black Yankees 1947 T-Shirt Navy
Info: | Add review |
History: This club was founded in 1931 as the Harlem Black Bombers. As the Black Yankees, the team played home games at Yankee Stadium, Triborough Stadium on Randall’s Island, and Hinchliffe Stadium in Paterson, NJ. After integration of the major leagues commenced in 1947, life was made more difficult for the Negro league clubs, as most fans were now more interested in following the exploits of Jackie Robinson, Larry Doby, and the other African-Americans entering the majors. The Black Yankees moved to Rochester, NY for their final season in 1948.
